aug and sept are busy months around here- well, specifically busy for mama the final week of august and the first two weeks of sept. we have liam's bday, nz father's day and then dad's birthday right after it. whew. and a bit of what happened before and after.....

for liam's creche i organized/led
a catering gig for the wellington warlords! grown men spending the day moving little pieces around.
was a super fun day and we made lotsa $$ for the creche :)

liam and his friend hugh started going to a saturday hip hop class

and hugh's parent's arranged for him to have a hip hop dance class birthday party!

liam and i dressed the part ;)

BIRTHDAY BOY! LIAM is 4 :)

boyo couldn't decide between a dino party or a pirate party so we decided he didn't need to decide.

we made a dino pirate party! complete with a treasure hunt, filled with pirates and dinosaurs

these are a few of my favorite things...

resuscitated dad's awesome cardboard boat that had taken a beating outside and with a new flag hoisted it made a decent pirate ship :)

what does the treasure map say??

first you have to dig up the dino fossils and uncover the puzzle pieces to make the puzzle

feed the hungry dino so you can get past!

walk the plank mateys ( liam's favorite babysitter and kit and ken's god daughter was our pirate leader :)

found the treasure!!

a very tall dino pirate ship cake-- we made the cake topper in the shape of a pirate ship crewed by some scary looking dinos ;)

a snapshot of liam's bedroom with all of the lovely gifts our friends and family have made him since he was born

and the next day we went out for sushi to celebrate dad's birthday- hammin' it up as usual

liam is a favorite with a couple of the girls at his kindy <3 he was the only boy invited to this birthday party ;D

a bit of an art interlude:

first appearance of captain america ( not the last! this is still his favorite costume 1.5 years later. this boy is consistent
and dedicated to what he likes :)

and we finished out this busy run with another trip to new plymouth to visit our friends inge and elise

but this time dad insisted we fly! traded a 5 hour drive for a 20 minute flight :)

that's mt taranaki-- it has subbed for mt fuji and would be liam's first snow ( that he can remember, papa and i took him in vancouver when he was less than 2)
