the weather was crap here in wellington so we made a pretty last minute decision to drive to napier to camp. our first family camping trip! does camping work with a toddler?

our campsite on the beach just north of napier. liam had his own luxury bedroom. and that zipper door was tied shut after we found him ouside of our tent in the middle of the night! that was kinda freaky!! but from then on, smooth sailing
pretty sure liam loved camping. didn't get any shots of her but he made a friend- hayley, age 4, the tent next door. as papa said, he's gonna be in trouble ;D
our site was just at the base of this bluff. we spent the sunsets on the beach
driving still farther north to a secluded beach and campsite we had wanted to camp that was booked up.

liam and i had loads of fun in the water. i know he is going to LOVE the beach in hawaii and we'll be able to get in with him! ;)
on our last afternoon we drove into the hawkes bay wine country. quite northern cali. feeling.

we came home sunday and the next day there was a stack of boxes at our door. xmas from afar all arrived at once! liam is a pro present opener now :) thank you everyone who mailed gifts all of this way!!
