february-- baba visits!

what a treat to have grandma here! We three girls chipped in to get baba to nz for her 70th.
yay sisters and mca!

It was such a pleasure watching these 2 get to know each other and a very sweet connection emerged :)


we celebrated baba's big day with our welly "family" and everyone had a great time.  lovely meal, vegan hippie cake and lovely company. including mom's new friend katie from the airplane who became a friend and liam's favorite babysitter. how lucky is that!

we did a lot of fun stuff around town.

 of course we had to take baba to the botanical gardens and we took the tram up and down. a perennial favorite :)

the family took a drive up to the wairapa one sunday to the wild west coast. not only welly that is windy!

on baba's last night with us she babysat liam so papa and i could go to the weta oscar's party.
she and liam watched the show;)

subtxt:  we shared a wee butterfly drama during baba's visit. one of our swan plant monarchs came only partially out of her chrysalis and baba made it her mission- with liam's help-  to rescue her.

she wasn't able to fly and baba hand fed her and checked on her every day. in the end she disappeared the same day that baba went home. the spirit animal butterfly ;)

 we know that liam is gonna miss baba just as she's gonna miss this cute guy xoxoxo
it was fun to have her here and we wish we weren't all so far apart.

my sweetie looks really good in a tux and he's really good at his job. so proud!!
