for me, april is the month of easter. i've always loved easter... the rare candy for a hippie kid and egg dying! anything crafty and i'm there. can't wait until liam is old enough to get into all of that stuff (well, we'll see if he shares mama's interests ;)
we found a really cool "marble phingy" at the op shop ( i hate to bring more plastic into the world and toys are really expensive here so i often hit the thrift stores. not just for toys! they are really good and well used here). we have had many fun nights playing with it

Liam rediscovered his beautiful handmade dinos from nana this month. he brought them with him and henry joan took a turn feeding them.
we all hit the kapiti coast steiner school for their harvest festival fair. as sweet and fun as steiner school faires always are. and the campus is gorgeous.

we gave liam an extra special treat right before easter. we had thought about presenting him easter morning in some sort of egg but it sounded complicated. introducing.... CLOONEY! he came with that name- i guess cuz he's a silver fox. we thought we would change it but nothing else has stuck... plus we had the brad pitt of cats last (nukie) so it seems fated
he is a super sweet little guy and the whole family is really happy to have him around. there have already been times where liam is busy for 20 minutes leading him around with the kitty fishing pole and i know their relationship will only grow. very happy and grateful to have a little furry friend around the place again.
we spent easter with new friends- kiwi mom, basketball loving dad from cali- had a blast making eggs and sharing in a big hunt on easter sunday. i even made hot cross buns.
we went with our friend's inge and elise to staglands -- so much more than a petting zoo.
an hour north and way up a narrow country road that runs through a valley that reminded me of the berkshires in it's pastoral beauty. a magical day
took liam to his first play with our new friends lucy and her son gregory. liam and greogory look really good together. they were riveted! 45 minutes, no problemo.
end of the month was marked with some new shoes and a new haircut- just a trim to clean up his scraggly grommet look ;)
still in the "nope, nope nope" phase to which we have added " i told you!"
he mimics me saying to the cat while gently stroking " oh sweeetie...."
a favorite from the month:
me: shall we read some stories
liam ( in his boat) : no, i'm just gonna sail away from you.
me: where are you gonna go?
liam: i'm just gonna catch some tuna for a minute
papa went fishing a new months back and did catch a tuna. this little exchange reminds me of the sweet little book runaway bunny..... love and hugs until next month :)
